I'm sure it is fine the way you did it and it won't go any where but those big coils should be loaded suicide style. I try to use straps on just about everything but big coils are the exception. You could put 5 maybe 6 chains through the middle instead of four. I don't think straps count toward WLL on coils. It looks like only four coil bunks in the picture instead of five.

 

I didnt load it. Was a relay for me.


Truthfully I was just trying to post about what it's like for certain loads as flatbed. So newer people who read this can see what goes into securement. Personally I don't load suicide style. Personal preference for me though. Some drivers won't load it any other way, I'm not one of those drivers.

 

Got a pre-plan Richmond IN to Berlin NJ. Not bad but still 250 miles from home. A bit far to deadhead but this time of year, who knows. Plus since I got earlier appt tomorrow I can get to the others earlier and they are dnh's no appt early ok.

 

Typically my deadhead is over 200 miles :/

 

Longest so far has been 180, but usually less than 100.
Plus I would hate to go through all those tolls mt. I know it's not my money, but it's the principle of it and I'm naturally cheap.
