headed to my cousin's house tonight for Christmas eve dinner then to my brothers in Jax to spend the night and play xbox all night

for the record I have no idea what Roehl does, but typically when a driver completes a u-turn it will will set off the roll stability sensor. Then it will record a period of time before and after the event and it can be recreated. It usually ends up looking something like this.

    That's actually pretty cool.

Kind of an off question, but I wanted to ask you.

If you're at home, and you wash your truck, is that line 1 or line 4 on your logs?

I was arguing with someone in another thread that if I'm at home and decide to wash my truck it will not be considered on duty since it isn't related to my duties of the truck. Am i wrong?

I'd log that as off duty, you're not required to do it and it has no(well very little) benefit for the company.

    That's what I figured.

The person i was arguing with was saying the FMCSA states that any duties performed are to be logged as on duty, but roehl does not require us to wash the truck. I do it for personal preference.

Just wanted to make sure bro.

I can see what they're saying, but then what is the difference between washing your truck and picking up supplies at a terminal? Would they log on duty for grabbing a lumber tarp, or buying a hat at the Roehl store? Where does it end, do you log on duty while waiting at the driver's counter waiting for someone to shake your dispatcher awake?

    Ultra7 and DrtyDiesel Thank this.

Every now and then. I'm fairly burnt out on DOT/FMCSA regs and crap at the moment. I think I need an actual vacation.
