After unloading at Griffith, IN first thing this morning, went to New Carlisle, IN for a 10:45 appointment (just made it by about 10 minutes and wouldn't have if I had fueled at Gary like the routing said...) to get a 43k pound coil. Delivered it this evening in G-town, KY. P-lot for the night and then see tomorrow morning whether I'll be going to Ghent or Russellville...

I unloaded in Cincinatti today and thought for sure I would end up in Ghent, instead I'm going to Middletown, OH for a 0700 appt.

In PA I-80 xt 232T/A. Have to fuel at loves xt 242, but at midnight I figured I had a better chance at parking here. Plenty of spots, just scattered around, backed right into one. Just amazes me they lazy pos's that just clog up the front because they don't want to look and or are too lazy or incompetent to back into a marked spot. Deliver in Newburgh tomorrow at C&S. I hate C&S with a passion I've never had any good dealings with them, and this is my first time going to one with Roehl.

Ok so about 150 miles from cons, and they don't start receiving until 1900. Time for a decent meal and nap I guess.

I have to say in all my travels, I have never done I-80 all the way across the west.... And I hope to never do it again! Just as boring as I-10 across Texas! 4 hours to Petaluma, CA and then sit and wait until 0900 tomorrow to deliver. Was a little PO'd about delivery time, but it is to a construction site and I haven't had a break since I came out. I would run out of hours on Wednesday if I didn't slow down. As it is, I might run out on Thursday and Friday. :biggrin_25525:

Come on, the scenery west of Salt Lake City is great, flat, white and ummm, and... Ok it's boring as hel. At least until Reno.

I was a local driver for Roehl for a couple of years. Once in a while I had to remove securement to pick up another load. Equipment is feast and famine sometimes. Lots of tarps but no chains or vice versa. Same with trailers, too many of one kind but not enough of another. But 7-15 loads? No way. Maybe in Marshfield with drop and hook vans. In Gary it would be 30 minutes to get anywhere. At least an hour to load, secure and tarp. Then 30 minutes back to the yard. That is 2 hours per load. So more like 4-6 loads a day. When I worked in Oak Creek Monday and Tuesday were spent delivering loads brought in over the weekend. Monday was usually 3-4 lumber loads to the same customer. That pretty much took all day. Thursdays and Friday were spent picking up loads that were relayed to the yard and departed during the weekend.

In Gary waiting for a tire to get changed on my trailer. I wanted to shut down in MI somewhere but if they don't get a move on I am not going to make it anywhere. Of course I caught them during the shift change. I deliver in Auburn Hills, MI at 0900 in the morning
