So I'm wondering...What happens if you are in an accident or some kind of incident while you are logged out and how will you explain to Roehl why your miles don't add up?

So the 2 stopper I figured to be a HON furniture load ended up being a reefer yogurt load. Sweet...stop pay and decent mileage and not too heavy so it'll work. Freezer box it is for me

This is probably the 7-8th one in the last couple months. I love the trls, mostly dry products just to get the trl back up to Wisconsin area. First actually refrigerated load was butter, now yogurt. Set temp is same outside so prob won't turn on much. Ill forget its there and prob wake me in the middle of the night wondering what's humming. Lol

I'm wondering why they aren't monitoring MWH, contacting drivers and correcting the logs to show what actually happened. For a company that frowns upon Off Duty PC for company drivers it seems like they are allowing it.

Since now I work for a dedicated reefer company I cant stand how roehl ran the reefer division while I was there....

The reason im guessing roehl isnt picking up the off duty driving is they are not looking for it and there are probably not enough drivers doing it to garner the attention YET..

Long day. Started at 13:30, with about 300 miles to cons for 20:00 appt. Was going to start earlier but got a preplan to pickup at 00:30 117 miles away after unloading, to deliver 170 miles in St Joseph MO at 04:45. So now here I sit in a Menards parking lot and by the time they open and unload me my 14 will be long gone. However I am lucky in that directly across the street is a truck stop, and another one maybe 500 yards up the road.

A couple of months ago I got to Coke in Atlanta with 4 hrs left and had appt. By the time I got my paperwork back, only 1 minute left, and they don't allow parking, so I said screw it. I was less than 20 miles from ellenwood terminal, so I drove there with the little red light flashing at me. Ended up I think 23 minutes over, but what the hell am I supposed to do? I explained to fm, and of course get the "try not to do that". Yeah like it was my intention. I was going to safe haven.

My comments aren't about what you're supposed to do, they're about what the company is supposed to do. Logging it as you do it, is what you're supposed to do. An HOS violation is not the end of the world, just add remarks to the violation so you can easily explain it during a inspection/audit and you'll more than likely be fine. I'm more concerned about what the companies responsibility is, this is the real world of eLogs and there will need to be a change in the regulation to accommodate situations like this.

Yeah, it's why I told this story, I logged it correctly. If there had been an issue I would have explained the same thing. Also why with the HOS law updates in July they added that egregious clause if you go over by 3 hours or more it will be a much harsher penalty. Ok I'm tired just ended long day/night. I follow you now as I reread the post, and I agree what are they supposed to do?
