Well good luck to ya,If you like to hunt and fish snowmobile or just joy ride its a nice place to be well except for this year milacs is still frozen over, the winds blew so hard today the houses on the north end are getting their decks and windows crushed by the moving ice I seen a youtube video watching it kinda cool to see the ice actualy moving right in front of you.

Guess that means quite a few drivers feel at home in a truck stop parking lot.

Just thought I would check in with my load from HE double hockey sticks!

Load came out of L'anse. I was to relay out of Saint Paul Park headed to Wyoming. I grabbed the BOL and left my truck by the container as I walked over to the load to double check equipment on load before putting it in the container. As I walked over to the trailer, I could see it as I walked up. I was about to be F####D! :biggrin_25513:

The load had shifted 6 inches to the passenger side. the ENTIRE LOAD! As I walk around inspecting the load I check straps. Most of them had two inches or more of play in them. Yes, it's a ceiling tile load, but you still have to make sure they are tight! UUUGGGHHHHH!:biggrin_25510:

Long story short, 3 hours waiting for Roehl to determine what they wanted to do. (It was afternoon of Friday too!) Get the word, can you take it back to L'anse? they want to inspect it for damage. Great! Let's get this straight, the load is now illegal, but you want me to take it 300+ miles back to the shipper?:biggrin_25526: Ok, if that's what you want. Marshfield is closer, but hey, it's Friday I ain't got $##T to do, might as well add 700 miles to my drive!

Get to L'anse this morning, sit around for 3 hours while they make up their mind, call someone in, and finally get load adjusted. Retarped and on my way! Sitting on I-94 X45 for the night. Now here's the real kicker, all that we ended up doing was using a forklift to push the load back on the trailer and then rewrapping it. UHM, I could have went to Marshfield and did that LAST NIGHT! So now I have 22 hours on my 70 left with 1150+ miles to go. Jobsite delivery for Monday isn't happening and Tuesday, while possible, will not allow me any extra time to find a place to park before 70 runs out. I get hours on Wednesday so that maybe when it delivers. We'll see.:biggrin_25525:

    LESSON TO NEWBIES!!!!
When you pick up a preloaded flat bed trailer, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THE LOAD IS SECURE BEFORE YOU DRIVE ANYWHERE!!! And if the load shifts, REPORT ASAP!!! Don't screw over another driver! (and yes the driver has less than 6 months exp) The load sat in Saint Paul Park for 24-36 hours and no one noticed it before I came to pick it up. Plenty of time for someone to have already FIXED IT! That driver just got a Service failure for this!

White Rhino and Bayle Thank this.

Just picked up a load out of L'Anse yesterday. The guys who load these barely tighten the winches. Ive taken at least 5 students up there and always show them you have to tighten these loads. It's almost ludicrous the lack of initial tightening. The tarp jobs from up there have been really sloppy lately too.
