Those were the things that I absolutely hated about being an FM for Roehl. I have stories, but I'm not going to share. Hopefully your FM's stand up for you and do that right thing. It's ok for them to question authority, or it was. Well maybe it wasn't, that's how I did things and I thought it was the right thing to do.

    Bayle Thanks this.

That matches what I was told (well, maybe "killed" is farther than what was said) when I went on the run with my tester (actually one of the instructors at RDTC). He gave me some tips for shifting that were actually pretty good -- namely, shift as soon as the RPM of the next higher gear is just enough to not lug the engine. I was shifting at around 1200 as taught in RDTC but now shift at 1000 or so (sometimes even less depending on load). Not sure how much this is going to save since most of my miles are out on the highway, but I guess every little bit helps.

On the long shot chance that any of you on the forum are going to be in Battle Creek, MI this afternoon or tonight and would like a nice steak or seafood dinner nearby let me know. I have a huge gift certificate that I cannot use by myself and I have some business there this afternoon and could pick you up from the pilot and bring you back.. just send me a PM or note it here on the board.

Sooooo iam sorta scared of what i have to pick up tomorrow. FM never said it was oversized but the trailer number is 9141 which i think is either a double drop or a rgn i dunno. in the comments on the load it says verify dimensions. and its a preloaded trailer.

AG equipment out of Meyers manufacturing, what are the chances its oversized? This is my take it through the house for the weekend load and deliver in SD on monday. I am 15 mins from the load but no hours to go check it out till the am.

I think its a step deck. We have some dedicated step decks for that co and i believe they are 4 digit numbers.

Dont hold me to that though.

between the DOT crap and planning leaving NO wiggle room for traffic/accidents/etc with appointment times. some days I miss my old job....I will hang on and get at least a year in, lease is a rip-off btw. an extra 40-50 cpm to take on ALL the costs of ownership plus the lease payments....honestly I do get tempted to do it but many many drivers ive spoken to say just save up a down payment and buy a used truck on your own.

ill let it rattle around in my head for a while I guess :)

we were taught at NETTS to never scale with the parking brakes set, the binding at the pin will affect it or something.

also IIRC, steers can be 20k on interstates, the rest of the states all have differing rules for their roads. check in the front of your map. got that from a fellow Roehlie the other day I had forgotten that page was there....

Findlay,OH at Lowes....ran out of time so here I sit :/
