I would of complained to dispatch. There is no way in HELL I will sit in a truck for 12 days with a person who does not shower, let alone show me anything. If that is the way they do things then I guess they will get to know me real quick as I will speak up. Or else drop me off at a truck stop and I will find my way home.
Century Class 04, 611K miles. Just over a month ago I traded my old century 04 for this one. That old truck had 960k miles lol So to me this one's like a brand spanker!
My God, what happen to them taking them off the road when they hit 700k? lmao... guess I'm SOL then, got 672k on my '06 International lol
Seeing as the economy is no where near close to recovery, any company, like Arrow can fold. Roehl can A) Hang onto money till we can see the economy get better B) Put money towards new trucks in leu of driver's pay C) Or try and keep what they have rolling while still pay bonuses and pay. That's my thinking anyhow.
Back when I worked for Curry I went back to full time after being part-time for over a year. As part-time I took whatever truck was available and boy could I tell the stories about that. Anyway, when I went back to full-time they gave me the best truck available, a Freightshaker Classic daycab, big Cat engine, twin stacks, ten speed and a skull from a spinner on the hood. I gaver her the name Widow Maker and it stuck, everyone in the company including the mechanics all called her Widow Maker instead of her number. She had almost a million miles on her but the ole girl was a work horse. I kept her till they gave me a two year old Western Star then she went to another driver. It isn't how many miles are on your beast, but how hard she's been ridden and has she been put away wet.
Have to admit I know little of the facts but I believe you 100% What is it about trucking where businesses can get away with stuff like that? BTW Gypsy, How are you? I see your miles are good so that's a plus, but health wise your okay? Life good for you and hubby?
