just finished my four weeks in Marshfield and heading home for a couple days tonight. Wow! Passed my CDL on Wednesday with flying colors and I have nothing but good things to say about my experience.
I believe I got one of the best instructors in the school and lucked out with a great group of classmates. Some of us will be friends for many years to come.
Roehl was quite professional in all aspects of their training and cram a lot into four weeks, but not enough to overwhelm you. They didn't only teach enough to get the. CDL but train you for driving in the real world.
Things I can vouch for:
Yes you get paid $500 per week from the day you start your training.
Accommodation was clean, and comfortable in a great location (close to wal-mart, target, Arby's etc)
Hotel provided breakfast everyday
Roehl provided lunch everyday
Class sizes were reasonable they averaged between 6-9 while I was there, my class started off with 6 but one had to leave for personal reasons.
2-3 students + one instructor per truck so we got plenty of driving time.
Week one and two was a lot of stuff to digest but things started to click and fall into place on week three. By week four you have most of it down and are ready to test.
They do not use in house examiners for the CDL test so if your looking for a school that rubber stamps CDL this is not the place for you.
Now I am done I head back home to Tennessee for a few days and go pick up my CDL from my local DMV. After that we go out with a trainer for around 14 days otr before returning to a terminal to test out and get our own trucks.
After weeks looking forward to seeing my daughter!
