They don't run Volvos. The post about Volvos I think was referring to Arrow Truck Sales, which specializes in used Volvos. The only trucks available for lease at Roehl are 2007 (manuf. end of 2006) Freightliner Columbias. Hope this clears things up.
I also looked into Arrow Truck Sales, and it's a much better deal...if you can cough up the down payment. As a flatbedder I needed the toolboxes, and wanting an APU to save fuel, my down payment on a $34,000 truck would have been $20,000 with the addons. With Roehl I was able to finance the whole package. I run a 2007 that had 340,000 on it when I got it. Paying just under $400 per week. Also have ATBS accounting, qualcomm, and flatbed equipment lease payment totalling about $40 per week. Then there's insurance, fuel, etc.

I have been in touch with Dan a few times over the last few weeks via phone and email and the numbers are comparable to other avenues based on the smaller down payment then most (like arrow) have, I believe we have worked out a deal with the numbers on a '07 Columbia Condo with an APU and just at 400k miles. So I'm looking forward to the transfer over, to those that have done it already, once you found the truck and got the numbers worked out, how was the transition over?

Well the mileage pay has increased and now Roehl has added a job board for their lease guys as well. It's a new system but it gives you more to choose from then before. I know a lot of happy lease/purchase guys. I make it a point to talk to each one I run into to see how it's working out for them. They make more than company boys do and the number one reason they joined the program was to get away from the company BS and enjoy what they do.

I've been oo here for a couple years. Solid company and they're very helpful. They want you to succeed, but pay is low. I keep my operating expenses crazy low, and by the time I subtract them from my revenue, I'm not much more than a company driver as the company drivers got a bump in their pay too. Roehl is fantastic for a first time oo, but the bigger money is elsewhere.

I keep putting the pencil and paper to the O/O program. I find the same as you. The pay for O/O is the same as or less than what I make as a company driver.

That is what puzzles me.....they are all very happy. That is why I keep thinking there is something I am not seeing. The job board is only for flat bedders at the present time.

Load board is only for vans right now. Many oo's are content here because they treat us pretty well. It's not so dog eat dog like the other big companies. Some people would rather make a bit less to be with a company that actually cares about you. Others leave looking for the bigger money.

    Rebelj1022 Thanks this.

Couldn't agree with you more, Scott. Roehl is a great company that I would recommend to anyone.

I agree Roehl has been great to me. They did everything they said they would. They are not perfect, but no one is. The major problem is communication, internal communication is almost non existent. They need to stop emailing and use a phone when someone needs a quick answer. Other than that Roehl treats us fair and they are always trying to improve things here for the drivers. Just make sure you get a decent FM because there are some real duds.
