Say thank you to the rail roads for all of the above mentioned stuff

Our fright base has dropped due to intermodel .... For the most part .. This is the way freight will be moving now until they figure out everything moves by truck

These larger carriers are participating in this so it will become a larger problem until they figure out they are cutting their own throats...

What needs to happen is these container haulers need to increase rates so that it is more in line with truck line hauls right now shippers are saving thousands in rates ... Due to this

Thus decreasing our freight base !!!!

Mainly what you see on trucks now is JIT ( just in time ) freight causing a driver to have to run hard and sometimes hot to make deluverys

Roehl tried the "Out More-Make Less" decals but the only response they got was from Werner for infringing on their trademark.

Well i got into Gary tuesday night while all day my fm kept telling me that they were working on getting me that relay. So when i called up night dispatch they said that there was no imformation on the load for a relay. So i told him well im gonna just drop the load and go home cause i was originally told i would relay this load..

It was kind of funny cause how frantic he got , he was like " im sorry buddy there is nothing i can do for you, can you please stay the night, there is nothing that can be done until you talk to your fm "
So i stayed the night, morning came and i sent a message on the qualcomm asking if im being relayed. i was told "oh sorry we are gonna need you to take that load we have no one to do it"
so i went into the operations department and told them basically that this wasnt what i signed up for and that i was told that i was supposed to be home on wednesday and that it was not ok for me to stay out till friday.

i was told "well it's only 2 days"
I said i didnt care, it was 2 days and missing thanksgiving, plus my interview. i went back to my truck and 5 minutes later i got a message to go home.. Standing up to them does seem to work.

Anyways my interview went great, i got the job. 86/14 health care that starts day one with dental and vision for only $20 a week, matching 401k at 4% and 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year.. better then roehl.

Would it be bad to wait until my launch day to quit? its wednesday and thats when i get my last pay check, im just afraid to quit now and them withholding my paycheck for something stupid.

Good luck with the new job! Sounds like a good oppertunity. I usually lean towards giving notice but in this case you may want to get that last check before telling them you're leaving.

Glad it worked out for you. i guess you will be home nightly now? thats the only way to go. 19 years ago i got stuck out on the road with the great Orange fleet spending thanksgiving at a truck stop north of watetown N.Y. eating a 4 piece broasted chicken dinner for my holiday. turned out to be the best thing that happened to me. weeks later i was in a daycab peddling LTL and will never go back to OTR or what some fleets call So called "regional"
