Driving won't be any more or less than sitting at a desk in cube land or walking concrete floors or hauling logs or hay bales at the farm. I am 46, in decent shape, and know how to stay active. I'm not trusting anyone but myself. It's either commercial driving or the homeless shelter so my choice is obvious. I've worked 8 hours at one job followed by countless additional hours on the farm in blistering hot summers and bitterly cold winters, I'll be just fine.

You certainly know more about driving 11 hours a day . day after day than I do. Do what you think is best, but in 6 months youll be back on here because the company that hires you dont care that your hip is hurting, or that being stuck inside your cab in cheyenne for 34 hours doing a reset while its 5 degrees and snowing. You know best just do it.

You are so far off base. No, I won't be complaining. I have lived in Wisconsin my whole life, winter is what winter is. 5 degrees? That's a heat wave here. I wasn't raised to whine and complain about hard work so don't go there. You don't know me, so take your assumptions and have a nice day.

no I dont know you but I do know trucking and there is nothing else like it, guarenteed. What you dont know is what being stuck in a cab the size of a closet, This is not personal this is honest. You will see. Peace out.

Maybe you should hang it up, you sound excessively negative. I'm not some uneducated idiot. I have a degree (useless), 20 years of public service, and a lifetime of farm work. I have several friends that drive commercially OTR. I've been in a tractor similar to what I'll be in. You call it a closet, I call it freedom. You obviously have some issues with it, maybe you should consider something else. I am an 'AmeriCAN' not an American't

No offense intended Powder but I absolutely hate comments like this. You may know trucking, but he knows himself, and what he can or can't do and you don't know him. You assuming he should just accept your advice because you know your job is pretty hypocritical when you refuse to just accept that he knows what he's capable of.

It's a no win circle jerk.

Maybe you should take your own advise, and experience counts, no reason for personal attacks.

Im not trying to insult you, maybe trying to save you some pain and frustration gained from many years ans a variety of experience. You can not understand what you do not know, f ou have been there then you havent. education comes in many situations, I also grduated from college, nothing taught there would perpare a person for whats in front of them as a driver.
Im not negative, I try to be truthful.
    Good luck.

Again, you are talking like you know all. I know my limitations, you don't. My hip is great, I have talked to drivers on other forums who have had it done and the response was unanimous, my hip and I will be just fine. I'll take the word of similarly experienced people who've had hip replacements over the word of someone who has preconceived notions about people without having the actual full experience to make such broad assertions. You can cease your advice as it is not relevant in this case. If you have some other valuable or relevant advice, feel free to express your opinion.
