So not as bad as Detroit. Probably more like a bad part of Grand Rapids then.
technoroom Thanks this. -
Well my recruiter got back. I'm heading out for the 26th and not to Gary. Apparently Gary is for Flat Bed according to her. She's sending me to Appleton instead.
-
That's better. Gary really gets a bad wrap bc its the busiest terminal in the company. Crap town for sure it's in the hood. Location wise basically everyone either gets fuel or repairs there. Unless your up in WI for delivery you can get repairs there instead. But if not going that way and your in IN then its Gary. Last couple repairs there weren't so bad, frankly they'll get better with time with more bays. And when the new construction is done it'll be nice. If you don't like the train noise don't park near the tracks.Dark Squall Thanks this.
-
Side note. With expansion, you can actually be closer to tracks now. Pay attention to where you park. May seem like a far away quiet area. There is a reason there are no tractors there, and only trailers.
-
Doesnt bother me I've lived nearly next to the tracks growing up, prefer parking next to reefers. Air leaks are really the only thing that bothers me. If I want quiet I go to rest area or shipper/con
-
You wanna hear trains all night? Try the St. Paul / Newport drop yard. OMG
-
It's not bad. No trains really after 22:00. And park in the middle facing highway. Train on that side is quieter, no horn.
-
I try to stay away from southern Canada lol
-
Where as I try to stay away from molton magma. Even trade.
