No we didn't have any females. I did observe the class before us and they had a female. She seemed to be treated the same as everyone else.

The training IS the test in away. You will not only be learning driving skills, but
you will get very prepared for the actual test. I don't know if the instructors want folks to know, but pay close attention, the roads, highways you drive on will be part of the actual driving test conducted by the state. You will be prepared and should pass without issue. Study the books. Also, by "tough" I mean the instructors want to make sure you learn in a safe manner that will keep you, him and the two other students in the truck with you safe. Remember any yelling or constant direction/correction is for your own good in the long run. As far as paying up front, once you pass your CDL test and have your license, you will do new hire employee paperwork. If you pay cash upfront, you are not obligated to work for them. I thought it was a very fair cost for the training, apartment, etc...
    Hope this helps

Just wanted to let you and other folks going down to Marshfield, watch out for deer. When I was down there, 2 instuctors and one student in my class
totaled out there vehicles. It was interesting that no one (during hunting season) actually got a deer most just used their vehicles.

But working for a good company is the goal isn't it? You just won't be an indentured slave. What's the upfront cash rate for how many weeks? Sounds like a sweet deal!

At the time it was $2800.00 which included your hotel or apartment . The classes used to be 4 weeks, but when i was there toward Thanksgiving we dis three so we could get home for the holiday. They also said they had removed a lot of the "fluff" from the program. For OTR, Roehl is a very good company.

Hey students, how many otr miles are you getting in school? Good votechs are getting 1000 to 1250 OTR miles in about the last 3 weeks of 8 to 10 week courses. And they are about $2K but with no living arrangements.

If you got 1000 OTR miles it would be the best hands down, except no financial aid grants from government. Still sounds like a great deal regardless compared to the alternatives. I'm jealous :biggrin_2551:
