Mrsmith.Roehl was very good at getting me home on time. In an 8 month period I was home on time every trip with one exception. And that was due to lack of freight going to the Akron area. On the 14/7 program you should be able to make a good paycheck.I would think you should do between 2500 and 3000 miles a week.I very seldom had to wait over 1/2 an hour after unloading for my next dispatch.Good luck.

My experience was 1800-2200 miles per week, and I waited an average of 3 to 4 hrs after empty call for next dispatch. Waited in Braselton Ga. for 19 hrs. after unloading at Home Depot and got a message from dispatch regarding idle time on truck being too high. Hey, it was hot outside! Oh well.
I was on the national side though, not 14/7,7/7, or anything like that. Roehl lied to me about most everything that they claimed I would receive. I am very, very glad to not be there anymore. Now, all of you "cheerleaders" for Roehl start attacking me for my comment. But all of you that are looking at going to Roehl remember, you have been advised. They are not what they claim, and you WILL be disappointed. They are as untruthful and self serving as any of the other companies listed here. They just have people that spend time on this forum defending themselves and looking to recruit off of this site. You will find out on your own when you get your truck. You have been notified. Good luck.

Won't attack you, but I and most other drivers I talk to are getting 2500 plus a week. The waiting for the next dispatch thing is right on though. That is kind of aggravating sometimes. Most of the time I get a pre plan so I know which direction to head, but every now and then (mostly weekends) I don't and have to sit and wait.
I doubt seriously Roehl has people on here to recruit.
What you will find out when you get your own truck is that this job can suck just like the rest of them can. If you think it's going to be all roses and belive everything the recruiter tells you, then you are going to wind up just like all the other hacked of drivers on this board. They will get you miles if you prove to them you aren't going to be a pain in the butt. The easier you make thier job, the easier they make yours.
Funny how it works like that.

I agree Redwolf. I averaged 2500 miles a week doing national and most of the time had a preplan with a van. For those drivers looking for a change to a great company my truck # is 6969 and my driver code is BEABE. PM me, we can split my referral bonus. Just kidding.

I run van/curtainside out of the Newport, MN yard. I get between 2800-3000 miles a week doing 7/7.

    Hi All,
Left last winter for a 7 to 3 job but due to family reasons returning to driving next week. Always liked Roehl before, thats why im returning to them. Going back to my old job, dedicated p&g out of chicago area with Gary as my home base. They were great on the phone and gave me a lot of choices. I need to get an internet card for on the road and Gab with you all.

    hi all,
well, were do i start. have questions and concerns for experienced roehl drivers. will be with co. for allmost 7 months now and am seeing things like freight is slow, preplan mileage and load assignment mileage not matching(10 to 100 miles difference and allways happens) and why are they still continuing to bring on new drivers at a rate of 30 to 50 per week, when the rest of us are seeing slow freight qualcoms or having to reset 3 times in a 4 week period. not because i was out of hrs because i was assigned a load of 650miles on friday, that delievered on mon. afternoon. seemed like the only positive about that assignment was to get all my hrs. back, even though i had 40 left. have been getting feedback from other drivers and have been hearing the same thing. that the planners are out to lunch 24/7. overall the co. has been great to me, new equipment, great service, and support team. hope you can understand my concerns i chose to make a career move after 25 yrs of cutting meat to make my retirement. i dont want to make a move this early in the game, but issuses like mileage 2800 to 3100 miles a week, go to 2200 to 2300 a week red flags start to appear. if the planners were more realistic and the mileage was there on a regular basis i would not be posting here, because like i said before i am happy with the way things are going. but, the issuses i have mentioned are big, very big to me!
currently doing national van w/ 36out, 7days off. recently talked with my dsr and ask if there was something i could do better or if i was doing something wrong. she said that she had heard nothing, which means that i had done nothing and that job performance was up to the grade. also said that as long as you pickup and deliever on time and have no preventable accidents you are good and too remember you are just a number.
stick it out cause it will get better or fly like a bird?

    thanks guys

    sorry for the spelling

I think that is the only drop yard I haven't been to yet.
I was thinking about 7/7 out of the E. St. Louis yard but haven't made up my mind yet.
I am running for Blume right now........don't do it folks. Was getting way more miles with Roehl, and that makes up for the .02 difference right there. Unless you just have to run a reefer (which is no big deal) I would go flatbed/curtainside for the extra money if you wanted it.

I actually posted this on the wrong thread. I wanted to ask Roehl Drivers like bucksandducks and Betty Beaver if they know anything about drivers in the south working for Roehl. I live in South Louisiana, and I don't know if Roehl has enough south runs to get me home every few weeks. I don't mind being out a while like 3 weeks or so, but it seems most trucking companies headquartered in the north, will keep you running north so much you might not ever get home. I'm clearing out some debts, and saving my bucks to get ready for my first year. I should be in driving school in about 6 months. I know that the first year is the worst anywhere, and if I can stick it out, things will get better. Looking very hard at Roehl or KLLM. :biggrin_2558:
