Good Man! I found google earth to be a massive help especially in the northeast. Being able to see the customer and the roads leading to it has saved me a ton of trouble. If there is any doubt ALWAYS call the customer first and get directions. Never trust the ones on the Qualcom or Mapquest for that matter.
I use a Rand McNally 510 gps and it has not failed me yet but I don't trust it totally either.

I have a rand mcnally also and this thing has tried to take me into residential, down streets posted no trucks and often suggests u turns! Sometimes I think it was a waste of money.
I trust it as far as I can throw it. I use it for eta's, tracking mileage and finding closest truck stops, rest areas and walmarts which most times I can find one within 4/5 miles.
It has it's uses but street directions is it's weakest in my oponion.

When set to to the truck routing I've not had this problem. Have you re-set it?

I don't use it for truck stops or other stuff although I have found it to be pretty accurate in my location showing my milemarker on the highway within 50 feet of the yardstick.

Reset as in put in truck information? I have it set for 53 ft. trailer and 80000 lb.
I have ran it for updates with my p.c. and it had not one.

If I could do it again I never would have spent the cash on a rand mcnally. My little 100 dollar unit was worth just as much. Google maps is the most helpful for sure!

I didn't use a rental car so I can't answer that for you. The hotel is the Woodfield Inn & Suites.

They use National Car Rental Agency.

Don't opt for a bigger vehicle. I had to get a SUV for me plus 2 other drivers that were going home so we could fit all our stuff. Unfortunately, Roehl only wanted to pay for a town car. I got the bill for the rental car in the mail. I got lucky though, i emailed a copy of the bill to Roehl and told them what happened and they paid it.

caveman, if you go into the settings of your gps, you should be able to make it so it AVOIDS u-turns, etc...I've got a Nuvi I've been using for general use in my car the past year...its interesting to see how routes change when you enable/disable things like tolls, u-turns, etc.

    DrtyDiesel Thanks this.
