They only have a certain amount of hometime driving positions per terminal or drop yard. Just keep asking and they will switch you pretty soon

I think curtain only hires experienced drivers. I have been pulling everything but flats the past two weeks. Under a reefer right now, but it got the wheel turning. Miles seem to be hit or miss. Depends on where you are and where you want to go.

Hay Etch, Im starting at Roehl jan 12th in Gary In. I was offered the salary also cause Im a vet as well. I havent made a decision yet. My goal is to eventully go Great Lakes Regional flat bed after my 6 mo's. I live in upstate NY. Are you liking the salary pay?? Have you compared the miles your getting if you were paid miles?? Is it about the same or is one better then the other??

i don't know who you had for a dispatch or what fleet you ran in, but when i was with Roehl my dispatchers could only get between 1500-2000 miles a week in the flatbed division, and I had no problems with my dsr

What I did was figure out if I could survive on the salary and then opted for it. I am glad I did. My wife likes the idea of being able to budget based on a set amount of income. From what I am able to tell the salary results in higher pay over the long run. You can always switch to mileage pay, but if you do you cannot change back to salary. I would recommend the salary especially considering the economy right now. Sorry it took a while to answer. I have been running kinda hard the past day and a half.
