Hey everybody,
Im just seeing if anyone on here has gone through or know of anyone that has gone through Roehl CDL training school?
Ive talked with the company and the school. To sum it up, I got pre-apporved, now I need to come up with $3500. And hope that they hire me afterwords?!
I guess im nervous to quit my job and dish out that kind of money right now. So if anyone knows anything about Roehl trucking, please let me know.
Thanks

Have you tried getting the loan from Roehl to pay for school?
-
I went through their school in 2007. The course is 3 weeks long. On Wednesday of the third week the instructors give you a practice CDL road test just to give you an idea of what to expect. Thursday is the actual test. If you pass the test then on Friday you are officially hired by Roehl and you are given your fuel cards and toll card and id badge. It's up to you if you want to go with Roehl. If Roehl is who you want to go with there will be no issue if you will get hired. They did all the background checking prior to you attending school. Good luck. They are a good place to start but they do have some issues.

You don't need to come up with $3,500. I believe Roehl's training program is $3,300, of which $2,800 will be the tuition assistance. The rest ( $185 processing/testing fee and hotel) comes out of your pocket.
Call your recruiter, and ask for tuition assistance. They will then e-mail you an application. You fill that out and fax it back to them. If your credit score is 500 or higher you will qualify. Good luck.

You missed a couple of things. As of October hotel is $375, Have to get your passport or Enhanced Drivers license ($42.50 in most states), Permit and endorsements ($10 in NY for test and all endorsements as long as you don't fail them of course). 2 Certified Birth Certificates from your local court house in the county you were born ($20).They will not pick you up from the bus station nor the airport. They prefer you to take your own car their because you have to provide yourself transportation to and from the hotel to the school. but they will reimburse you the gas money and tolls for getting there and back. Its really not that bad better than having to pay the whole $3,000. And you only have to drive for them for 120,000 miles if you sign the contract.MUSTANGGT Thanks this.

So how much do you gotta come up with out of pocket?

I got the tuition assistance so I only had to pay $185 for the processing and testing fees and $350 for the hotel.
