I'm starting Marshfeild for orientation on April12th,will any body else be their?Does some have any info on Marshfeild and what to expect?

reefers are only gettin 1800 to 2200 I would go van and get reefer trained then you pull boxes and dont get stuck in grocery warehouses for 3 am deliveries. If you get stuck they can get you a reefer outta there or a van.
rockfish469 Thanks this. -
Iwanted to go flatbed but couldn't get it in my area.So I will learn refer and and try to switch to flatbed or curtainside later,Thanks for info

Was it PA in general that they would not set you up on flatbeds? Or because you are down in Philly? I am thinking of going flatbeds. Not positive yet but that is where I am leaning. I'm hoping to start in May going to school. I'm getting excited about this a bit! I really appreciate all the info you guys have been sharing.
As for enemies on the road, Refers are much better than the guys hauling pigs to the slaughter houses! I remember getting parked only to see the truck next to me leave when I was in Texas and have a truckload of hogs pull up next to me. lol What a fresh night of sleep! lolrockfish469 Thanks this. -
Was told flatbed was filled up in Philly,I could try later if their was an opening,I'm not sure if it was because i'm a new driver. They may be hiring in that area if you have experiance.Best ask your recruiter.I have 1 more weekend of school left Mar.27th and 28th.I have been doing lots of driving in high traffic areas of Philly and surounding areas.Lots of stop and go traffic with light at every block,Lots of up and down shiffting with 10 speed.I really understand the importance of the smith system,Knowing whats going on aroud you at all times is so important, other cars are always jumping out in front of you, cutting in and out in,ridding on your ###.I'm having so much fun learning how to drive this has been very satifing for me.Well 2 more driving days and a Cdl test next we,Will keep up to date on how it goes,Rockfish

personally just starting out id go dry van.I pull rer. not many drop n hooks. alot of 4-5am del. live. dont be a min late. so at 100 mi. from drop up at 230 am (driving) no matter what your day ends at 430 pm 14 hr rule. by the time you reload and are ready to roll an your days done 10 hr break. pays as good as a day off.I m sitting m/t at cons now. waiting for load info. 1230 now was mt at 830 am. part of it. yep being 1st time id wear out the dry vans. think after3 months you can switch fleets

I was in the refer division and they suck. worked for them for 2 years the most i took home per year was 23,500. good money if you do not need to eat or pay your bills. I was out for 18 days at a time and sat for 6 of those days mostly in Gary. Boreing place too be.
