I hopefully will be starting the driving school for Roehl and was wondering some things about the company. So far I have heard nothing but good things about the company. Does anyone know if I could be almost guaranteed to run 2000 miles a week? And just overall is it a good school program that they have? Are the instructors decent and friendly?

No one can guarantee any amount of miles.
The freight available, and the drivers ability to accept said freight legally (depending on how much time is available on the clock), will dictate the amount of miles that a driver gets per wk.
In other words, time management is key to increasing the amount of miles you get, along with the amount of freight available in what ever area you happen to be when you call in MT.

The school is very good, good instructors and good setup all the way around. As far as miles go, you get what you get. As a general rule the longer that you stay out the higher your average is.

when you can be flexible wit your home time be flexible. If you aren't going to get him when you want to, try to make the most of it. Often times you'll be presented with waiting for a better load or running, take the option to run. It sucks and you'll be upset because you wont be home, but you'll be earning $$. Try to work with your FM, if you want more miles ask what for advice on what you can do to get more miles. FM's love to give advice and it's nice to feel useful every now and then.

Cant help you with their school.I hired on there as an experienced driver, and found them to be a very good company to drive for.I was always treated fairly, and I did my best to dop my part.Sure I had a couple of minor problems, butthey were taken care of by a phone call to my driver manager.Any comapny you go with your career will be determined by your dispatcher, and I had a good one.Roehl is a smaller company compared to the larger ones like Scneider and Swift, and they have a few good major contracts,VW just to name one.My time with them was spent mostly in the eastern half of the US,with a few Texas runs thrown in.I would reccomand them to anyone who is serious about making a living.

All of these companies have their flaws, it is just finding one that you can live with.
