Checked out two local trucking companies in Columbus. (know people there). Home every night - day cabs, no logs, stay within 250 miles of Columbus. Pay was about the same as Roehl, mid .30's plus some multi-stop $'s and unloading pay if needed. Basically make the same $ and get home by dark.

Confused as to how the money could be the same as on national when you're home more. You get 10K miles a month? Don't they take a couple cpm away for dedicated?

I run a dedicated account and with how crazy i run iam home more and make more money. With my deal i run my hours out almost everyday. When i was 11 out 3 home i made less money. I will gladely run dedicated over national. I could feasably sleep at home everynight but i dont.

Interesting. I've been tossing around this dedicated over national thing for a few months now, but don't want to drop in pay. I'm sure all the dedicated runs have different results.

I'm making slightly more on the dedicated route with Roehl than on the national because of more miles, mostly D&H (less sitting, more moving, using up my 70 driving).

If I could burn up my 70 during the week and be home for at least a 34 on weekends, I'd never leave the company...

Thats why I love being on a dedicated account. I burn my 70 down to almost nothing each week. Home by friday leave sunday evening. Paychecks are a constant right around the same number each week. If I were to park in the drop yard I could sleep at home every night. Yeah its a few cents off national pay but you make up for it.

Start at 0200 5 days a week, done around 1400-1600 daily. Take 10 at home. I don't mind 0400 or 0500 but 0200 used to be when we closed down the bar, not got up.
