day 4- Well spent 2 hours in the classroom then went out on the road today. I did a lot better today on my shifting but still needs a huge improvement by tomorrow mostly with my downshifting. The director had to let one student go today so we are down to 6 students including myself. As long as you make improvement while you are here then you will be fine. You also have to know your pre-trip inspection by friday because our testing for pre-trip inspections is on tuesday. A lot of stuff to know in a little amount of time. As long as you can get the shifting down and stay in your lane. Along with your pre-trip and post-trip inspections then you will be fine. Its basically knowing the truck inside and out. we get a cheat sheet on friday showing a shorter version of the layout and where stuff is on the truck. Tomorrow we go on the road again and start backing on our 45 degree backing and a little more on the straight backing.

Good luck with the rest. I went through the program in late september. I just finished Evo2 and got my own truck. It is different when you don't have someone next to you to ask questions. If you can make it through the first week, the rest is cake.

Cool, Marshfield is a nice town. Was down there in Feb. this year. Had a family emergency so I had to leave school. Keep posting, I find it interesting reading.

day 5 - We spent only an hour and a half in the classroom then spent the rest of the day in the truck out on the road taking tighter corners and my downshifting and upshifting has improved dramatically one last little thing I have to work on is releasing the clutch and putting the accelerator on. My instructor keeps telling me "Think of it as a feather" being a little to aggressive on the clutch and accelerator. The gas pedal is more toucher than my car lol. I also did my 45 degree backing first time I did with 2 pull-ups, second time with only 1 pull-up , and the third time no pull-ups. We even did our post-trip and did some more 45 degree backing in the dark and I did better at night than during the day lol.
Day 6- spent only 2 hours out on the range doing nothing but pre-trip inspections. I had the other guys quiz me on how I did and I only missed 2 parts without looking at the cheat sheet that we get on test day. The guys were doing nothin but bustin on me the entire morning lol. I spoke with the instructor and asked him to quiz me on my pre-trip inspection and he said that I did excellent. So everything is coming together. I have 4 chapters to do for homework, I'm probably going to do 5 or 6 to get a little ahead and concentrate more on my driving than anything else. Thank god for a weight room, pool, hot tub here our I would go nuts. Well school is done for the weekend we start up again on monday. Only thing I don't like about having the weekend off is getting a break....I want to keep driving it lol don't want to stop to long or i'll have a big brain fart lol.

Don't they let you go practice on Saturday? When I went thru a couple years ago the range was open for anyone that wanted to practice on Saturdays. Ask Steve about his band. He is a musician in a band and he never talks about it. Well my 30 minute break is over time to head onto Las Crucses NM.
