I can't imagine anyone choosing to attend RDTC without working for the company after graduating. Perhaps other companies don't recognize the school, but they better recognize the resulting experience!

We had one that paid cash for it and did not hire on with Roehl. The main thing is not to quit before you complete you Evo's and then 6 months. Once you have the experience the school becomes irrelevant. Without the experience the school is all you got and it better be a certified acceptable school if roehl is not your choice.

I might be in the same class as you then....I live in WI and it shouldn't be that bad towards the end of Feb. I haven't got offered the job yet but should hear something back sometime this week if I did or not.

They will finance and they reimburse tuition fees if you stay with them.

Yep. I believe you gotta drive 120,000 miles with them.

I was told by the finance people that @60000 miles they knock off $1000 then @120001 they take the rest away and you are no longer a slave... :biggrin_25523:

I have knowledge of a couple that left. Hired on right away with another company. Saw the certification of completion of Roehl's school and hired the the guy. He had less than a month driving and didn't even need to go out with anyone. Did the orientation at that company road tested and rolled out in his Pete...

That is not the norm though...

The school is as good or better then most out there.

About to start my second week at RDTC. So far I'm impressed. All of the instructors I've met are professional, experienced, and friendly. The course is well designed, texts are up to date, and the equipment students are trained on is the equipment that will be used on the job.

Based on my first week I can see why RDTCs reputation precedes it. I have my CDL already, and some experience, but if I were a brand new student going after my license, this is a choice school.

Why do you have to go though their school?

If you dont have recent OTR experience you need to go through it.

Yes, most companies want 6 months to 1 year of recent (within the last 6 months to 1 year) of OTR experience. I have about a year experience, but it's from 2004. A bit outdated, lol. For someone who is serious about getting their license and a job driving trucks, this school is worth the money and the time.
