I feel your pain on the seat. The shock wore out on my seat in the prostar. They replaced it with a passenger seat another driver had taken out for more room. It's nowhere near the quality of the drivers seats. It has less lumbar controls and no air cycler button. Worst thing is it doesn't swivel to the middle when I stop for the night. It's hard to relax in that bunk and watch tv when you can't sit up under those cabinets.
Truck upgrades would erase one of the only complaints I hear about this company.

CLC... Corporate Lodging Card!
New SBL system driver here, out of Cincy terminal.wsyrob Thanks this. -
As mentioned clc is the corporate lodging card. Basically a credit card to pay for hotel rooms. Lots of quality inn and similar type hotels. Also a bunch of fleabags, but I refuse to stay in a dump and think putting a trainee in one would give a bad impression of the company.
Training pay is $75/day for experienced drivers and $100/day for entry level. Honestly though I've been making about the same amount and sometimes less because I end up taking shorter runs to avoid keeping trainees out for too long. Also I tend to work local more due to pump and air training and the fact that entry level guys can't drive the first week. If a guy wants to train here solely for extra money he will have a rude awakening.wsyrob Thanks this. -
my uncle drives for superior and basically has the same complaints with the trucks. I think that's about his only complaint really

Welcome Oaker? How you like it so far. I always liked going to Cincinnati.
-
Thanks wsyrob... I'm impressed with the people to be sure, beginning with the folks down in Greer and over in Cincy. Knock on wood... My prostar is running well and I'm doing the same.
By the way... My move here was inpart do to your and others threads on this forum.
PS - I need a bigger keyboard.
wsyrob Thanks this. -
I think I probably also owe wsyrob some thanks for all his posts--reading them was one of the reasons I looked into Superior three years ago when I left the dry van outfit I'd been working for. I'm a system driver out of Morrow, and I'm pretty happy with that. You guys can have those dedicated runs; I need a little variety in my life.
I'm in a Mack, too, and though I don't have as many complaints about mine as rubberducky68, I do of course have a few. I wish there was more storage in thecab that's accessible from the driver's seat, but I've found that the cabinets in the sleeper hold more than you'd think at first glance. I did, however, add extra shelves to the big sleeper cabinet, and that has helped quite a bit.wsyrob Thanks this. -
I'm out of Markham and run a dedicated, which I will do until I retire. I hope!! This may sound crazy but after checking out the one mack we have they are going to have to pry my prostar from my cold dead hands!! It may have some issues, but it has a nice ride and lots of room compared to the mack. There is no way I'm doing my 600 plus mile days in a mack!!!

Just curious. What is your dedicated run like? Do you do the same one every week or do they rotate you around on several? One reason I started this thread was to pull guys like you and Henley out of the woodwork and learn more about the company overall.

I run the same load every week unless there is a product or production problem. The load goes west into the hills. I can't give details about where I go due to the product. I'm lucky to have this load which is due to me not minding driving through the hills in the winter and having made a great relationship with consignee. I also never get bored doing this load due to the amazing scenery and people I deal with.
wsyrob Thanks this.
