I've got a f250 17700 GVWR and I am looking for a 20 foot trailer with the intent on upgrading the size of containers and truck in the future. My question is what is a 20cy typical weight? I get there are highs and lows but am concerned about hauling to much for my truck.

How could a 250 have a weight that high, sure you don’t mean gcwr, that’s gross combined weight rating, my 2012 Silverado single rear wheel is around 14,000 gcwr, that’s truck, trailer, and load.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. It's a Diesel Power Stroke 6.0 SuperDuty superCab. Do you think 17 is too high?

Even my '96 F250 gets down the road just fine at 17K truck/trailer/load. I'd be embarrassed to have a newer truck rated for less.

Mine is a 460/5-speed/4x4. If your 17K is off, it's on the low end. You should be OK with a little more.

I'm sure it's an awesome truck, just google 1997 ford f250 gvwr which is gross vehicle weight rating; it's 8800 lbs. The fact that you haul more has nothing to do with what it's rated for. Gross combination weight rating is, gcwr, since he is looking for a 20 foot trailer. That's truck, trailer, roll off box, plus whatever is in the box. I drive a roll off for Republic, what your planning is ill advised. Good luck

there is no average sometimes it's 2000 lbs of trash, my mack weighs 35,000 with a empty 20 yard roll off box. I crossed the scale at landfill, 20 tons in the box [concrete] plus 35,000 truck. Yep 75,000 on a 10 tire truck.
