There's an intersection just like that where I live. Barely enough room to fit 2 cars between the crossing and the stop sign. All day long trucks stop before the crossing and then pull straight out into traffic. That's the right way to do it IMO. You can't apply car logic to something 70'+ long.
Bud A., shatteredsquare, RockinChair and 11 others Thank this. -

Company is in the wrong on this one. Would be like firing a driver for crossing over a solid line in a turn lane to make a right turn safely. Sometimes in the name of safety, you have to bend traffic laws a tad.
Future companies won't give you much grief over it.Numb and IAmNothing Thank this. -
Please name the company.
Knucklehead, MACK E-6, Lazer and 1 other person Thank this. -
But I would also add...
If you have clear view with enough distance on both sides, it is perfectly safe to stop at the stop sign (even straddling the tracks) and then proceed through.gentleroger Thanks this. -
I'm afraid of what I would do to that company's equipment every time I saw a trailer at a DC.....put a termination on my HireRight for that.
