His brother and father also owned grocery stores and were the same as him.
Some drivers actually quit if they were dispatched to go to either of those guys stores.
Horrible human beings; made the drivers think they died and went to Hades.

Wow!
That kind of like sounds like my meeting the Devil in Oklahoma when I was 3 years old.
Not really a human being, but it was at a Christian 'something' my dad took us to.
I think he wanted to become a missionary or something.
They turned him down, probably because he was more a true Christian than what they wanted.Lumper Humper, Snailexpress and Chinatown Thank this. -
You expanded your truck, you expand your trailer, and now you want the poor guy to expand on an accident.Lumper Humper Thanks this.

Perhaps expound would have been a better term?

If anyone volunteers that they are a Christian it's automatically time to start backing up slowly without taking your eyes off them. There are a few people who have the presence of the divine operating in their lives but most people are just con artists with the dominant religion being the classic cover. I'm sure the same is true of Hindus in India and Jews in Israel...TripleSix, randomname and REO6205 Thank this.

I can have most Christians backing away from me within a few minutes of talking with them.
I'm not so gullible, and I have a very hard time putting up with some of those teachings.
I've had some real fun with Catholics and JW's, as well as many others. Evangelicals...!

Sorry but my bullcrap meter is tingling at this story.......
-
Really?
Which part of the story has you tingling? -
Hope you get a second chance.
The story sounds like a common one. Inexperienced driver does something legal but Ill advised for conditions to push to get the load done. Dispatchers know they can push the FNG and do.
Experienced drivers are drivers that did dumb stuff, made it out ok, learned from it and vowed never again. I did way too much flat out stupid stuff my first year. I believed I was being a good company man but really I was being a schmuck. I got lucky you didn't. I wish you better luck. And remember, learn from your mistakes and near misses. That's how you get better.Legion91, MOBee, Lumper Humper and 1 other person Thank this.
