The driver hit something hard. Broke the front axle mount for the left side. Pushed the axle back about 24". It is still attached to the frame. Bad welds?

My guess is as the truck laid down the tire caught enough traction and bit into the asphalt and took the rest of the metal pieces with it. Sort of like a badly sprained ankle.
Or maybe they hit a unicorn.Bud A., x1Heavy and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
Cut that out hahahhahahaha

Those hills are some that drivers don't take that seriously going through there. They are incredibly steep and curvy and I always smell breaks in either direction once I get to the bottom. Drivers go too fast
Bud A., homeskillet, JoeyJunk and 2 others Thank this. -
Where's the driver facing camera.
So we can see what really happened.Bud A. Thanks this. -
More than likely the axle was busted the moment the truck started hitting the posts that the guardrails are bolted to. From the looks of it those posts are metal.Bud A. Thanks this.

Who's gonna pick up the lease?
Bud A. Thanks this. -
I cannot stand truckers who use tiny fuel tanks. Don't think thats even 90 gallons from the looks of that tank. If that's on the right side, that's APU right? That leaves one big tank for the left side to fuel twice a day. That's probably why all those trucks pack and over stuff the fuel line 24/7 because they have to fuel twice daily instead of say once every 3 dayss.
Bud A. Thanks this. -
@x1Heavy
Look at this photo....

You have to remember that the majority of Prime Inc’s trucks are mid-roof/short body models that are designed for regional work,but I guess they use them on long haul runs since they’re lighter than a full length condo sleeper.
