you are okay but you might want to go to a better paying company while you still have the chance lol as long as you keep your psp report fairly decent and they will put that on your dac but you can be up front with that, and your csa of course but those are the primary records that companies look at through their insurance but companies need drivers so bad out there that you can pick and choose whoever you want to go with!!

This doesn't mean the company is reporting this so I wouldnt assume you have a preventable on your record. Many just fix small crap and that's it.

They tell you it's a slap on the wrist and it's "in-house" until you leave or get fired. Then they throw you to the wolves. It happened to me at Werner.

What is there to overthink? He hit something in a parking lot and caused damage to a company truck! That is called a preventable accident. It was an accident that could have been prevented. It probably isn't going to go on his MVR but there is a very good chance it will be on his DAC.

They may over look it but as he stated, it took off a piece of his bumper. That sounds like pretty significant damage.

Either way, whether the company does anything about it or not, I would highly suggest he doesn't do it again. Not be harsh on the guy, everyone makes mistakes.... just don't let the mistakes happen twice or there could be worse consequences. If the company does decide to put this on his DAC it could really hinder him in getting hired on with another company.

op...no one can answer your question about your record in here, unless they happen to work at the same company or have familiarity with your company at least. the real answer is...it varies. some companies report to dac, some dont. you now have an in-house preventable that somewhat dings your record in house. what they choose to do to you as a result (ie. punishment) varies. what they tell others (dac, job reference calls, etc) also varies. tho id understand not wanting to do this (i dont think i would), the only people that can give you an honest answer are in your company. safety department would tell you what the repercussions of the incident will be if you asked them. safety or someone else (hr?) would be able to answer what will appear on your dac, and what would be told to people asking for a reference.

one incident generally does not preclude you finding a better company to work for. there are some companies that want a "clean" record, and MAYBE they would not hire you...but then again maybe they would. MOST "experience required" companies allow for 1,2, or 3 incidents within the last (?) years. it varies. but you can DEFINITELY find another company that will take you with only the one incident. might be different if we were talking about one reckless driving, or one dui. but youve got one very minor parking incident. you may find 2 companies out of 50 that wont take you because of it...no more that that i think.

wow u guys gotta get out of the big company mentality the op never said who he worked for i guarentee it is NOT on his CSA or PSP. dac MAYBE not every company reports to dac hell i worked at 3 different companies not one ever even heard of dac so to say it will be on there with out even knowing who he works for is just insane. to the OP just relax ##### happens its not the end of the world just pay better attention next time as long as u didnt rip the bumper off i wouldent sweat it. if by chance they did put it on ur dac so friggen what. if everyone that put a scratch on a company truck was to never get another job again due to dac there wouldn't be half the ####### out on the road as there is now and if u do find it hard to find another job because of it then go with a smaller company imho smaller companies are better anyways more money and they actually know ur name who would of thunk it!!!

How deep was the snow? If it was only two inches... maybe you should have seen it.

Six inches??? Then the snow really hides things. It is hard to see changes in contours/elevation when everything is pure white. It is not like you ran over a curb in summer....

I would want to discuss it with your safety officer and try to explain the circumstance.

Get a flashlight and keep it near your driver seat, scrutinize your parking spots more carefully.

Discuss the situation with your company and try not to over think the dilemma bout whether this will ruin your future opportunities. Sme of the lunatics on this forum have done much worse than you and yet, are still throwing freight.

If you start worrying about whether you're a bad driver or not, head over the to c.r England area of this forum and you can gauge your current safety situation based on what you think when you read "hit another driver last night while backing in- hilarious! No? Well, if that didn't make you laugh the fact that I ran away, will!"

    Knightrider78 Thanks this.
