@379..i like how u run, that is one thing that i would always tell the guy i went with to florida, that i just wanna get up and go, dont want to be wasting time nor money. Plus, i dont want to drive under pressure because im racing the clock. I know i have a lot to learn, but i know who i am and i know what i can do.....i have an open mind, but i do want to run a lot of miles, no doubt.

Hi Shyne_E_Star, here is a site you might be interested in if you are not already a member. http://www.womenintrucking.org
Women In Trucking was established to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the trucking industry.
The organization is an active group that finds opportunities to promote the accomplishments of women in the industry.
This organization has been created for you, both men and women, who are either involved in the industry, or have a career interest in being a part of one of the largest networks of professionals in North America. Nearly one out of fourteen workers are already employed in jobs that support the transportation industry, but the need for drivers and other trucking professionals continues to increase.
You can become a member of Women in Trucking by completing the application.
Your support of this non-profit organization will help us provide the needed resources to encourage women to become employed in the trucking industry. Additionally, your dues will help us to motivate the transportation industry to look closely at any obstacles that might prevent women (and men) from considering a career in trucking. Our goal is to provide a greater understanding of some of the special challenges women face on the road. From restroom parity at loading docks, to ergonomically designed cabs in the trucks, women often find themselves faced with obstacles that might not be obvious to those who found them acceptable in the past.
Thank you for your interest in Women In Trucking. We look forward to serving you and supporting your career in the transportation industry.Shyne_E_Star Thanks this. -

[h=3]Do Woman In Trucking Have It Harder Than Men?[/h]I wouldn't say that women have it harder. (Of course I am speculating) From what I see a woman in trucking has both advantages and disadvantages.
The advantage is of course there are plenty of drivers out here who are anxious to cater to a woman's needs on the road whether its with directions on the CB, radio checks, fixing on the truck, etc. (Now, this is from both good home training or it could be from perversion so be careful, read into their wishful intent lol!)
Sometimes a woman can get on the radio just to ask a question and get offered a free meal at the truck stop!Shyne_E_Star Thanks this. -
yay!! lol, im taking mine

well thats great! i dont want to get treated differently, i just want it to be known that i am aware that i am a rookie but willing to learn....i just want to be compared like all the other rookies whether female or male. everybody starts somewhere, right?
if i get treated for dinner, i will be treating as well. -
Where did you go for your CDL and would you go there again? What companies would you recommend for a new driver? What have you heard as being the best company to go to that will train you?
Shyne_E_Star Thanks this.
