When riding with a trainer or team mate be sure to have some sort of signal that you have left the truck. If you are sleeping and wake up at a truck stop or what ever and the other isn't in or around the truck, there is a chance you could be left behind on accident. It happens more than you think. I my truck your shoes were not allowed in the sleeper. If one of us got up we left the sleeper curtain wide open and put a pillow on the dash or in a seat as a signal to check the sleeper before leaving.

Never thought about being left behind. That would really suck. For everyone.

Oh shoot just one of those things you learn backing into dark holes during the day time or running nights. That flashlight is my best friend at times. I learned that tip from somebody else on the forum can't remember who but it was great advise. By no means am I an expert, I still have a lot to learn out here. I learn something new every day of the week. I ask questions when I'm in doubt and that's what you have to do. And ALWAYS show respect for the guys that have been out here for a long time! They have the knowledge to help. Listen to them! I learned everything I know listening to the guys with 15, 20 even 30 years of experience. They have the knowledge and are willing to help the rookies out but you have to show them respect and you have to be willing to listen to them. It goes a long way. I have no problem buying a veteran a cup of coffee if they're not busy and I'm not busy and sitting down and talking with them. And learning everything I can. Sharing stories talking about the industry what they have seen what I have seen changes etc. I have learned a lot doing that. And I cannot preach enough to show them respect. Without them all of us newer guys would be up a creek without a paddle period the end.

@379exhd....yes, that one thing about me, I will ask questions, the only thing that i am weary of is getting a trainer that gets frustrated quickly and has no patience because that will intimidate me to ask questions, usually, i am the type of person, tell me once and I got it, but there are those instinces that will need detail explination. I worked so hard to get my license back and taking a lot od BS being the only girl at trucking school, so I will not give up, worked too hard to get to this point, I just pray that my trainer is awesome. I am very easy going, go with the flow type person, not picky, gung ho, lets do this, but also, i dont want to get tooken advantage of.

Yes she did but omitted the truth a lot of times. I have started threads on my life and even had a blog at one point until I stopped posting to it for personal reasons.
