A couple of months ago I picked up a wallet in a Loves parking lot. I was following the same general path as another guy about 100 feet ahead of me heading back to his truck after a shower. I yelled at him and sure enough it was his. Lucky guy.

Nice to know there are still some honest people out here among us and yes he was very lucky that you being one of them was the person that found it.
Things have a way of coming back around such as that too. My cousin was at walmart a few years ago and found a purse in a cart in the parking lot. She took it to the service counter and turned it in and just so happened the lady was walking up there to find out if anyone had returned it to them. She overheard and saw my cousin returning it and she claimed it as she asked my cousin to wait for her on the side. She got her purse back and proceeded to hand my cousin some money thanking her profusely for being honest and returning it. My cousin simply refused the money and told her not to worry about it she was just doing the right thing. About 2 weeks later my cousin lost her purse with a rather large amount of cash in it at ( you guessed it ) walmart! She was on her way to the bank with a couple thousand dollars cash and stopped at walmart first. It was returned with nothing at all missing.
I do believe in karma or what goes around comes around, or whatever you want to call it. -
I would add if you find one in the fuel island give it to a manager(wallet that is) way better chance of everything being there if the owner comes looking than handing it to a maintenance guy or cashier.
Wargames Thanks this. -
You are a heck of a nice guy. I would do the same. Just the thought of losing it would drive you nuts. What would happen if DOT pulled him in the scales, and they did a level 2 ? lots of trouble to go through. I would have waited till you came back out of the truck stop and bought you lunch, or coffee.

You guys are not going to believe this, but the exact thing happen to my wife. Left her purse in the shopping cart at Walmart. Someone returned it. Another time, a major grocery store, she leaves her purse on the shelf in some Isle, over the intercom, they call her name, I almost died. Now we go to the store, and she starts looking at something, she says "HOLD MY PURSE", Looked at her and said "NOT GOING TO HAPPEN".
