If I swung into the fuel island area to do a straight back, I dont want someone driving behind me thinking I am in line. Its mostly in the beginning while I am setting up before I am going in reverse. They dont know I am planning on backing yet. It looks like I want fuel.

    NO!

Just cause YOU know doesn't mean someone else isn't paying attention.

My hazards stay on until my happy butt is PARKED. Deal with it.

Less and Less every year know what it means.

You know how many times I've had to jump out of the cab and explain it to the person trying to shove his head up my butt? Nobody around when I started the back and then , out of nowhere, here comes speedy gonzales coming so close I cant even straighten out without hitting them. Seriously, Bizzaro world.

Hazards on, brake lights on = I see you and I'll wait for you go go by before I back. Only hazards = please wait.

The first post reminds me of watching a werner trainer and her student backing at a loves in Grand Junction. She got him all setup nicely... Then he puts it in reverse and mashes it! Backing like its a race wildly spinning his wheel looking back and forth like his head was spinning, leaving his trainer behind running to catch up with the truck as it disappeared into the hole. Couldnt help but laugh.

I MUST find me a semi and give that a go.

I wonder how the local company will feel if they got paid to see a 18 wheeler get abused in this manner.

Actually hazards are a slightly different meaning to me.

If I turn em on or see em come on and you are evidently hunting for a path off the center street into the dollar store or something, I know you are fixing to maneuver with that semi and it would not be wise to get any closer. Might get mashed.

I noticed no airlines. My air line springs hung low and if I turned like that they occasionally caught one of the frame bolts and would tear. Finally got it fixed at a Loves instead of those mobile repair units that never had that part on hand.

Note that the spinning semi has a nice fat wet puddle to grease those triaxles tires. Otherwise that big pig would grip too much and try to tear at least one clean off on dry.

Okay, I'll make ya a deal. You leave your hazards flashing but dont take 10 min to back into a spot, k?

The dimensions of the truck never change and it backs up the same every time as well. Id rather see a driver g.o.a.l 10x's before watching them go back and forth constantly, which usually puts that driver in a worse position than when he/she started.

    brsims and x1Heavy Thank this.
