Route 41, Avondale, PA

    For all of you that travel Route 41 going into Avondale, PA, the SAVE 41 Group (made up of trust fund baby tree huggers), SAVE41, has managed to convince London Grove Township to get Penndot to put a traffic roundabout at Route 41 and Baltimore Pike. This organization wants to get all trucks off of Route 41. In their opinion all trucks should use the PA Turnpike and routes 202 or 476 instead of Routes 30 and 41. They don't care how far you have to travel out of route or how much more it will cost as they have plenty of money and cost is meaningless to them. PA employees are working for free right now as a result of the budget problems, but Penndot is ready to spend almost $6million for this unnecessary change to the roadway.

    This roundabout is just another tactic being used to try to get trucks off route 41. Those of you who are interested in fighting this should contact Penndot and tell them you do not want this roundabout put into place. Roundabouts are not safe. This project must be stopped.

    The round-a-bouts that Virginia is putting in and that Maryland put in on Rte 15 are ridiculous. They are supposed to keep traffic flowing instead of having to stop at lights. What a joke. People freak out when they come to the round-a-bout and another car is in it. Then more cars enter and you end up sitting there because idiots don't put a turn signal on to let you know they are turning out before they get to you. Each round-a-bout was backed up longer than a traffic light ever was.

    Reminds me of the Movie National Lampoon's world vacation where CLark was driving round and round. But yeah roundabouts are a pain in the ###. I went around one and the back left side tandem tires were on the curb, I stopped after I got out to check the tires and the cop stopped behind me and was laughing that I was the tenth truck to do that. He let me go and said to warn others approaching the roundabout.
