I know Gordon doesn't use a truck GPS on the qual-comm, but do they still give you text-based routing and local directions?

The short time I was with Gordon they did...

they give u hwy #, miles on that route, local directions u must request them on the qualcomm to get them. most of the time it is just an address close to your destination. i used goggle maps to look at where the docks were and how to get in and out.

Yeah, but the routing directions kinda stink. They can be hard to interpret sometimes. And local directions can be wriiten by a drug addict. IE: My current directions (for a Las Vegas shipper) begins: at the 76 station.... Do you have any idea how many 76 stations there are in Vegas?!?!?

Guess I'd better get a truck GPS then

If your going to carry a laptop anyway, you can use MS streets and trips. $60 and it serves me well. The bad part is no lane assist, good part is every map down to street level in the cities.

Anyone who is going to be an otr driver needs to invest in a good truck specific gps. Been with gordon 4 years and palazon is correct. The directions are written by other drivers who may or may not know which way is north or up for that matter. Especially a lot of the newbies gti is now hiring. Routing is center of city to center of city so you need to do good trip planning before you ever leave with a load.
Good luck -

Gti has its flaws but i have made good money here -
Actually it is zip code to zip code... remember, most cities have many zip codes.
