Me with load locks: pulls lever... not far enough up.. raises it too much, pulls again, wont lock... lets it back down too much, not enough... finally gets it just right... now its crooked... rinse and repeat.
Destin FL and up it looks like will have wind and rain predicted in the AM Monday to 1pm, it depends on how far it swings east or west though, so far. It most likely will cross over I-10 for sure, heading north toward Montgomery, and then eventually to the Ohio Valley. Destin and Panama City have gusty winds already with red flags out at Destin Beaches. One weather report has winds at 50mph and pressure at 994mb as of 4:00 pm CDT, but it is still out from the coastline a little ways. Predicted landfall was it looked like somewhere around 80 mph winds. Some of the strongest wind gusts in Florida so far include St. Petersburg (39 mph), Tampa (37 mph) and Sarasota (35 mph).
That's what I was worried about because we are driving in there with an empty trailer and empties blow over easily. Fortunately dispatch concurred and decided we shouldn't leave until tomorrow with expected layover. So we have some wiggle room now if needed.
This is a tool that surfers use: earth :: a global map of wind, weather, and ocean conditions You can zoom in and out on this to check wind speed. Just tap it or click where you want with your mouse to check wind speed. Speed is in kph just multiply by .63 to get an estimate of mph. I believe you configure it to mph if you want. For rain try this: It’s from NOAA no wacky weather shows. Just refresh the screen from time to time. If you tap the screen in an area it will give you the NOAA weather station closest to you tap. NWS - National Mosaic Enhanced Radar Image: Full Resolution Loop Obviously neither of these should used while you’re driving. They have a lot to look at...
Well what ever direction you heading to Florida be it South or East one things for sure if your heading there and you see everyone else heading the other way that's a sure sign your heading in the wrong direction.
I have run that route many times. Going all the way from Southern California to Orlando. Come off US 80 go up one exit and get off at the TA. Takes you right to US231. Believe it or not but going from Southern California it is actually shorter to go this way to Orlando and much of central and east Florida then going I 10.
That made me think of Independence Day. The scientist and his father driving into Washington DC with an empty road. Everyone else going the other direction bumper to bumper like southbound I35 when the shut the freeway down. I thought we are going to be the only two idiots trying to get down there.
80 mph winds it would be a hurricane. Predicted at landfall to have 50mph winds with rapid weakening after landfall. Still, you're doing right not running right through it empty.
I did use Weather Underground, but for some reason my Win 10/pain in the tush computer and it do not cooperate anymore. It did have the projected windspeed for areas. Storm may be hitting Marianna, FL though also. We live off Hwy 80, husband uses 80 to 231 in the reverse when coming from Brundidge AL. J
I may have read the TV map wrong, wasn't close enough to screen I guess. Looks like onesite is saying 50mph sustained wind
