yep, Idle now, get towed later.
The Regen system can't clean out the soot from idling, Not getting hot enough to do the job. When you are out on the road and it does get hot enough it's too late because it's too plugged up to work right.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -

found this thread after doing a Google search for similar rev during idle. when auto regen happens, is there an indicator light?

Correct however trucks have an option to high rpm idle. In my truck to do that i have to turn on cruise control on neutral and add the rpm manually. That should take care of that issue. However it does cost you more money in diesel expense. BUT still better than hurting the engine.
