Idk what engine you have but unless you have something crazy going on it will hold it just fine
I have more than 1 truck running 50 percent over what the transmission is rated for and in the local and off road side of things there doesn’t seem to be much trouble
Probably one of the most significant improvements that generally came with a higher torque rating was an oil pump and cooler setup

If you look at the parts books within a series there are very few if any differences as the torque ratings go up…. I have always been under the impression that the difference was largely how much warranty you paid for. Now when you start talking over 1800 ftlb rating there are some significant changes.

When I had my Cat 3406E, I dropped a 550 brakesaver file that called for 57’s, but I had 58’s injectors in it, of course, had a B/W stage one also. Anyways, the transmission was RTO 16913 which is rated for 1600 lbs of torque. Well I ran that transmission for years with out any issues and I know was putting out better than 650 hp, couldn’t tell you on torque but had to be close to 2000. Here’s the thing, if you drive it like you’re supposed to, use the power bad wisely, one shouldn’t have any issue.

Yeah I get it, a lot of those parts look the same and sometimes the numbers are more about the warranty.

But running that 1400 ft/lb trans near its limit is asking for trouble. Jumping to an 18913A or 18918B isn’t just paper coverage, it’s keeping your rig rolling and off the side of the road.
