If you’re a slow passer on a major interstate and there is traffic, I’ll back off the throttle to let you around. If there is nobody but the two of us for miles ahead and behind, I’m maintaining speed. PLEASE, for the love of GOD, hold the left lane until there is a decent amount of space between the back of your trailer and the front of my hood. There’s no need to take my hood off because you’re an impatient POS. And yes, I’ll flash you over when I’m comfortable.

Two lane divided highway and I’m backing off the throttle no matter what. If that .03 mph is going to make your day, it’s all yours. I have more important things to worry about, like going home to my family in one piece.

One mile an hour between LA to Jersey over 65 hours is not going to impact your arrival time much.

3250 between LA to Avenel NJ, comes out to 54 minutes at 1 mph difference between 63 and 62 in our FFE truck as a team. We are there in 65 HOURS. 54 minutes slower in a 62 mph truck, and potentially a hour faster in a 64 mph truck. Does that make sense to you?

That hour can evaporate at any time in traffic or some other problem during the trip.

It's not the right or wrong, but the horses and speed. You have to find your place in the herd and stay there. Even if it means setting 61 on cruise for a hour or two. 62 is too #### slow for me anyhow. 63 was barely tolerable only because we were a team. Put away 1500 miles overnight.

I've had Swift trucks pass me ( I'm governed @ 65) They drive the kw 680's. There's one guy in WI drives a regular Swift truck but pulls a viacon covered wagon that goes 64 1/2.

I think the 680's are the leased trucks.

How you doing 1500 in a 63mph truck? 68mph WILL barely get you there at 11hr 2 minutes...

Just don't be the jerk that mashes on it as soon as he sees another truck appear in the left mirror, or the jerk that slows down as soon as you get back in front of the guy you passed.

Observe those two things, and you won't hear a word from 99% of your fellow drivers.
