You can take those qualcomms apart and unhook the speaker. Or just throw under the back bunk. I talked to a Katy driver the other night in Pensacola Fl and he described the same problems you encountered.
Yeap, they just had an update, mine is messing up as well, and good thing I'm not on that logging crap. Proof that electronic is so much better than paper!
My truck isn't equipped for e-logs yet, but I can't wait! I have a very hard time knowing when I am tired, and when I am not, so this should be very helpful! I thank Knight and the TSA for making this advance in the industry. Dunno if this is true, but one driver I talked to, who had supposedly went through the class on e-logs, said "it's 3 violations and then termination"? If so, I may make it through a week with e-logs, if I am lucky. I feel like such a bad person.
the only positive thing i can say about the e-logs is that you won't have to keep updating the pages. on the other hand, it stinks having to put in macros to update your status.
well its feb 7th and im on my 3rd load with knight trans and im runnin a paper log still...they do plan on goin paperless soon tho but no idea when
well the bad part bout electronic logs is that when ur on the docks an they run u out of time thats it....u cant move paper logs u can at least hit a truck stop
Knight changed the qlcom movement from 7/10 of a mile to 3 miles, so you can now move up to 3 miles before the qualcom bumps you to line 3... This info was given at one of the elog classes. One bad thing I heard for any company driver is you cant move your truck (they said) to go shopping or any personal errands without the qualcom putting you on line 3, on paper you can use line 1..... O/O can use line 5 for any personal truck movements. This will be very interesting how this all plays out. I predict there will be less loads being dropped in any of our yards, it will be to difficult to get drivers to waste there time doing locals/favors without interupting there hours to drive.
pshhhh, locals are still being done left and right by otr drivers whenever they're around the fontana area.
Wait a minute! you are telling us that you wont be able to bobtail to Wal-mart to buy food or go do laundry while on a 34 hr reset??? WTF??? I guess they are just going to ignore the "personal conveyance" portion of the rules! Probably cuz they are thinking it will save them money on fuel!!! Well, they keep up this kind of stupid crap, they wont be spending ANY money for fuel as the entire fleet wont have drivers in their rolling prison cells!!! ####, am I glad they fired me before they opened this #### storm!!!
If I'm on elogs, and I'm on the dock, and I run out of time, I ain't movin' #####. And I don't give a rat's a55 what threats they give me. OH NOES THEY FIRE ME FOR NOT MOVING A TRUCK. I'd love to see my DAC, oh wait, DAC is going to be dead soon anyway, I wonder if a driver with 10+ clean MVR and 0 points on that new thing could find employment.....
