Running illegal

I got the new truck stuck.

 

I was driving the new truck, and went to get weighed at the Love's in Jackson, GA. I was there for about 20 minutes (I also got breakfast, and McDonalds had a line). So I decided I better log it. Being the nice guy that I am, I pulled off the scales, set my brakes, and caught up on my logbook. I did not notice the dip after the scale, it went down then up in a really short space. I caught my trailer on the asphalt. I tried everything, backing up, deflating then inflating my airbags, locking the differential, nothing would work. All that would happen was the wheels would spin. It would not move. So I walked next door to the TA shop and got the wrecker to winch me out. It only cost $150. Can you believe that? He drove a few hundred feet, put some chains around the trailer, and hooked it up to the winch. Maybe I need to go into that line of work. I understand that some of that goes to the shop, but if if he only made half of that, it would be $75 for 15 minutes of work. I could get by on that. I have not discussed who is responsible with my boss. I went to the scale because he said to, however, he was not the one that got the truck stuck. What do you folks think? Who should pay the bill? Should we split it? What is fair or reasonable?

 

Yes I called him, and he told me to find a truck repair shop and get it out.

 

I slept in a hotel last night, now I just need to figure out how to make my boss pay for it.
