Never heard of power balancers. The damper is a liquid (gel type maybe?) filled balancer to avoid shocks to the crank. Got any pics of the whole set up on the Truck. Any hard numbers on fuel economy yet? The fan kills it. At least 1/3 mpg when ran constantly. Not to mention all the problems with Freightliners kicking them on for no reason.

Yea i was having that problem with mines then hard wired a switch to the solenoid then the fan hub died last month...it lasted since i bought the truck 6yrs ago but since i went otr 2yrs ago things have needed more fixing than when i work local for 4yrs hauling containers. The balancer i have is from pittsburg power...The balancer you can see it in the lower left corner... I think it is mercury filled.. The mpgs really vary depending on the wind, load weight, route and how much bio diesal in the fuel.... Right now I mainly average 7-8 with all steel drives and old used tires.

Yes. 2000 and up. It’s a better system. Along with pad mounted alternator and an upgrade to a Sauder A/C compressor. New $300 bracket, drive pulley, belt tensioner. I’ve upgraded my A/C compressor from original York to a Sauder. I suggest doing it. Total cost on yours would be around $1500 for everything. Worth the money. If you decide, just ask. I’ve got the info needed, You can upgrade the a/c compressor only, using conversion kit. Better to change everything to the newer design.

Yea that be nice.....i will have to wait a bit to do that since i just blew a super single on the trailer earlier today, and had to put a new rim also and was 1,145 at loves. Am planning on switch back to the 8 wheels on the trailer. Also going to upgrade the alternator soon to a 200amp unit so i can run the 4 fans.

That’s it. You can find it aftermarket on eBay a lot cheaper.
