I'm waiting for someone to get some 12" ducting and cut holes in the trailer and sleeper and then connect with the ductwork!

All that cold air back there is soooo close! Just gotta funnel it to the sleeper.

THE EASIEST approach, buy an A/C compressor, buy a 5 HP gas motor. Have a welder make a bracket. The motor runs the A/C. You would need a battery bank to run the evaporator fan and the condenser fan. You may have to get a slightly bigger gas motor and get a SMALL, alternator, maybe 40-60 AMPs.

You can get a Car A/C system very easily. Go to RockAuto.com and order an a/c compressor, an evaporator, an air dryer, and an A/C condenser. Make a bracket to mount the condenser to. Build a box and put the evaporator in, and incorporate an air filter in it. Install a fan on the evaporator. For $30.00 bucks, you can buy a thermostat. The thermostat has a temp probe that goes onto the evaporator, and one that goes to the A/C compressor to tell it to turn on. Of course, you'd still need your high and low switches and hoses.

If you want heat, get a Webasto bunk heater. Sound's easy, but would anyone care to volunteer?

And by the time you do all that......never mind.
A good air conditioning system is more than a compressor and a couple of fans. There are lots of things to consider, and most generators do not have a ay to run a belt off it. You would need a small engine for that, with the compressor and an alternator. How much room would that take? Never looked into it too much myself.
As far as looking ugly, I dont think so myself, but I dont care either. For the $3 per hour I save, it works great with ZERO under bunk room lost, nothing to set up or move to use it, just push the button for the generator and enjoy the AC. All for the weight gain of @200lbs and a total investment of right at $3k.
