I plan on being an owner non op. and hire a truck driver and run under another’s authority. From the comments I see I need my EIN and Bobtail insurance. I’m getting mixed answers about the DOT #. But it’s best to look at the contract they present, it should specify in it. Am I correct?
You shouldn’t need a DOT#. The Carrier you lease to, is the responsible party. You can only haul under their Authority. Being under Contract with them, puts you under their DOT#
