I'm bout to loose my temper with my dispatcher. Picked up a load yesterday and when I went to slide my tandemson back fwd the brakes wouldn't hold so I had to go to the shop at the t/a in Ontario. One of the slack adjusters was bad and they didn't have the part and couldn't get it in till this morning. Got out of the shop at 730 am and told dispatch I would be late with eta 1400 for a 1100 appt due to the breakdown. Get to con in Phoenix and they won't take me as theyes stop receiving at noon and go home at 1400... I got there at 1330. Told no go would have to come back tomorrow and messaged dispatch. My biggest ##### about all this is wtf didn't they call the customer when I told them last night I wouldn't be able to make otd or this morning when I gave my eta

Well you did pick up an already bad trailer and kept them in the loop. I'm sure something on the back end will be done. But nothing much more could be done if they stop receiving at a certain time. And it would probably be customer service making the customer call not the DM.

Also, did you send a mac18. That goes to everyone and gets their attention real quick. I always send a mac18 and then call breakdown. It was explained to me that whenever a driver sends a mac18 that their DM is suppose to call them and find out if there will be an issue with OTD.

The load b4 i started to notice on the morning of delivery i had reduced breaking power. B4 i put in the 18 i checked everything and couldn't find anythint wrong. Got to the shop and one of the slack adjusters wernt adjusting so they replaced it. And yes i put in a mac 18. My thing is why didnt they call the customer. This whole mess of being rejected and having to wait till tomorrow morning to get a new appt time could have been avoided if brandon or the load planners had just called the customer.

But it wouldn't have made a difference because they closed receiving before you got there anyways based on what you're saying. You'd be waiting still.

Well, as long as you did everything to cover you six, then, it's on them. And by everything, I mean the mac18, keeping them in the loop of the repair (I.e have to order parts and expected eta of parts), and giving new era once out of the shop then you are not at fault for the late load. No need to get mad and stressed about it. That won't change anything. Just know that you did your part and someone else dropped the ball.

    Kamkor Thanks this.
