About 6 or 7 years back, we would occasionally pull R&L Carriers trailers when we were driving for CRE. We sure would get some funny looks going down the highway.
Currently more non JCT trailers than JCT trailers in the Tolleson drop yard in our section. CRE, southern refrigerated, Stephens, and two no names. Beginning to think Thermoking oversold their lot...
Me: Yeah I think there's something wrong with reefer.... Breakdown: What's going on when it starts? Me:
So, I was waiting in line to check in at the shipper. The clerk asked the driver if he could haul 44,300lbs (they will verify with driver that their truck can haul the weight during check in). The driver said that he didn't know, took a picture of the weight sheet, and says he has to call his boss. He steps away and calls his boss on speaker phone. Ask the boss if the truck can haul the weight. Boss says go weigh it and you tell me. Driver says that he will be considered late. Boss says lesson learned then and hangs up. Me and the 2 other drivers couldn't help but laugh. Each driver should know the max weight their truck/trailer can haul.
This screen shot is with 42,579lbs of cooking oil from Fort Worth, Tx to Houston via US287 and I-45. Cruise was set at 57mph (down hills it would coast up to 62mph) and let the computer do it's thing. I had plenty of time and parking at reciever, so, slowed it down from my normal 62-65 mph to 57mph. It's a 1.5mpg increase.
