I didnt use the voodoo doll while posting that! Rush in Haines City fixed the APU on my truck! We all had figured it would be well into August, so when breakdown called me and gave me the news, it took an 80-ton crane to pick my jaw up off the floor! But as with all good news, there is bad news. I cant get a rental car until Monday, I'm not on a freight lane so hitching a ride is out. So it will be Monday afternoon b4 I get back to the truck. Plus after 14 days they require a wizz quiz. Oh yay...

For the past few days I have had this feeling that I hadn't put a TripPak envelope in a box. I knew I put one in the box at the yard when I was there, but the feeling was still there.
Today, I find the envelope that was having the feeling about. My son had put in the cubby hole directly above the driver seat and I didn't realize it. So, I will put it the box today when I drop the current one. -
Just heard on the XM that Ann Ferro is stepping down from her position.

Here's a heads up to any driver that may be delivering to KPAC in Wilmington, CA.
DO NOT SHOW UP LATE FOR ANY REASON, EVEN IF IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!!
I showed up late and am still sitting at customer 8 hours later.
It all started yesterday when I shut down in Lake Havasu yesterday around noon local time (was working against my 70, but OK for OTD at 7 am the next morning.) Took shower, got something to eat, and went to bed with plans of rolling out at 2300 last night. About 3 hours into my break, my Qualcomm alarm wakes me up. It was a reefer alarm. Unit shut off, -10 load is reading +23°.
Great! Called road service to advise of situation while trying to get reefer going. Tell them I'm on break and they say they're going to send someone to me. 30 minutes later they call me back and tell me I'm gonna have to go to a repair shop. I need to go to TK in Kingman 36 miles away in the opposite direction. I've got 43 minutes left to drive.
I can make it there but load is now going to be late. Called night dispatch A.S.A.P so they can start looking for a relay. Pull into TK as my time runs out. TK gets reefer going and checks everything out and releases trailer. I hobbled off duty across the street to truck stop and start my 10 again.
Checked in with night dispatch to let them know I was fixed and where I'd be and if they had made any progress on a swap. Nothing yet.
Get up 9.5 hours later and see I have NO messages or missed calls from JCT. Go inside to brush my tooth, wash up, and get my coffee. Called night dispatch again to get an update and find out there were 3 drivers available that could have saved this load. Not one, again, not a single driver was a team player and offered to help out. They called customer to advise and they said they would take it, but I'd be a work in.
So,I roll out with the anticipation of being there around 1130. Got to delivery at noon cuz there was a Pepsi can on the 605 and everyone had to slow down and take a picture of it.
So, 8 hours later and still waiting to break the seal.
Now, naturally I'm not a happy camper about wasting my entire day at customer, but I think I'm more pissed about the 3 drivers that refused to help.
1. I got screwed. No load for me today.
2. That's a service failure for JCT with the customer, but it could have been avoided.
3. Those 3 drivers will probably be the first ones to ##### about JCT in the future, simply because they think everything is about them.
I'm not sore at JCT, other than the crappy equipment, but a little teamwork would have gone a long way.
Ok, I'm through ventingAlanp613 and drloveofdfw Thank this. -
#### that sucks. Hope your next load is better.
Steel Tiger Thanks this. -
Some just don't realize that if we piss off the customers, they might not use us again therefore less freight. Oh well, when I was still over the road I'd help whenever I could. It takes two or more in teamwork. There's no I anywhere.
Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
Ended getting outta there 9 hours after I got there.
By the time I got trailer fueled and washed out to drop, it was almost midnight CA time...almost a full 12 hours after I got to customer. -
You only needed 8 hours of break to be Legal.... Not that it would've mattered..... Just a FYI
