Not sure why so many ppl are anti Freightliner.

They provide the best fuel economy, which is the one thing that can determine your success or failure.

They have the most sleeper space and storage space, which is laid out logically, unlike the others that leave you scratching your head with what in the world could "that"space possibly used for. Good luck being comfortable in a Pete or KW with 2 ppl.

They are mechanically reliable compared to the Petes &KWs.

I realize it comes down to personal preference, but I would think you'd want to make sound business decisions. An ugly truck makes the same amount of money as a pretty truck.

    Just my thoughts.....

I always loved the freightliners too. The extra space in the front end goes a long way. Space in these t680 is better than before but compared to the freightliners is still way short.
Still hard to beat Volvo tho...
My last company I was in two freightliners for twelve years. Then my last two years were in a Volvo. Was like getting out of a jeep into a Mercedes. lol

You get 15¢ for each gallon of tractor fuel plus 1 point on your PFJ card.

You get 1 point on your PFJ card for each gallon of DEF and reefer fuel, but no cash back.

    Make sense?

Yes, BUT.....You must individually weigh the 2 chains. Loves offers free refills, has the Tire Pass System (which should be free).

Some prefer Loves showers and more reliable internet.

Some prefer PFJ showers. Cigs are always cheaper at PFJ than Loves (if you're a smoker). Sooner like the Denny's restaurants at PFJ.

    To each their own.

BUT DO NOT OVERLOOK THE OTHER DIESEL SPOTS. You can find fuel for 20 - 50¢ less than Loves or PFJ and that would definitely be the better deal.

    Follow up to this post.....

I just went thru all my maintenance records since I got this truck (brand new).
325k miles. Only driver in this truck.
I have spent a grand total of $0 in repairs on this Freightliner.
All other maintenance has been scheduled/preventive maintenance or non-Freightliner issues (APU, tires, batteries, or my modifications)

I cannot in ANY way complain about the mechanical integrity of this truck

    MachoCyclone and CannonballAA Thank this.

I'd love another freightliner, I just wish I could get a new truck now that I've proven I can run profitable and reliably, instead of in my mind, throwing away money on a truck I'll never want to own.

Need some kind of contract agreement to get the upgrade earlier than what your truck year is slated for. It's the one annoyance when you're a driver that doesn't want to leave for somewhere else. I understand that with turnover its impossible to give every driver a brand new truck out of the gate but... If you promise to stay and not contribute to the turn over why not reward that.

I like my Freightshaker also. No major problems with the truck. If I did have to trade in though, it would be for the new WS 5700EX. I really like the way that truck looks.

The only issue I have with the Freightliner is the resale/trade values. They will always be less than others as the market is flooded with them. Also for the prices we are paying they should be full O/O spec, not just a little better than fleet.
