Yep, I always go that way when heading west. Adds 11 miles and about 6 minutes. A major plus is the roller coaster ride with the dips on 66. Weeeeee!
Ok thanks. So just did the swap and the driver said the night before the fuel cap on the trailer fuel tank was stolen and he didnt tell anybody cuz he didn't know what to do. Now im trying to get ahold of the t/k guy that come around the yard to get a new one
Swapped my empty with a loaded going to Dallas. They guy wanted to take it to Dallas, but JCT wouldn't go for it because he is Northeast dedicated and it would have thrown a monkey wench in the loads up there. Looked at the bills and I didn't know we ran hardware supplies. You know, nails, chalking, bolts, etc. Has to be kept at 63 for the chalking and one other item. Best part is it's only 18000lbs.
Ok again never refuse a load. Even if you can't make it. If you refuse the loads then you take the chance of being moved to back of line causing a long wait and in turn less miles less money etc. Every driver I have talked to that failed in LO say three things they never got miles they always sat too much or I could not make any no ey on the loads. Just take the loads and let them know its no longer your problem. The only loads I decline are if I am headed home. I get plenty of miles and I hardly ever sit unless freight sucks. As long as you mark not on time then it ain't your fault. Plus you never know if that is a filler time or the real time. The load I just dropped was told to me a 1500 drop but it was all day. Just take the load and roll.
