I like JCT and the way how they spec their trucks. It appears they are following in Primes foot steps for specing them out. I know Prime spec's the Cascadias out with 10spds, 3:42 rears, Super singles and a good gauge package. I'm not turning this into a bash, just mentioning that JCT probably is learning from others on the specs to maximize miles per gallon.

The cascadia here doesn't have many gauges. And the evolutions have a Columbia package for dashes. I believe 8 are behind a glass panel. 3 on dash. My old Pete at May had 16 gauges but I like the truck

Though this might not be a bad thing, for a driver wanting to get into the O/O side of trucking, maybe they should look at fuel economy rather than how many gauges they, Only thing I don't like, Are the super single, in my experience with them, my fuel economy never increased, the only thing that changed for me is, having to sit on the side of the freeway waiting for road service

These guys are also running ScanguageD which is a big help in fuel economy, the device cost about $160.00 but the savings is amazing, they run cruise less and coast more over over passes and small rises keeping the Turbo boost down helps GREATLY with Fuel Economy. They time it takes is worth the savings! Sharpp and the others can tell you what all they do to get the good MPG's they are getting but a good size saving going in your pocket rather then in the tank is important. Good Luck.

Finally got rid of trailer 701* and got 5*o4 man didn't think Icould get worse but I did trailer is in good condition just duals and no skirts. But I've only managed 6.8 to 7.3 all month. Definitely getting a scan gauge when I get home this week. Heading to az from Florida going home. But the pay checks are still great from all the miles I ran staying on the ten consistently fueling 25 cents under the national average helps

Enjoyed my half-day on Sunday. My Troy, IL friend, James, met me on time at the Pilot and we went over to Sam's to get some steaks for the grill and a plush throw for the bunk. It's been getting chilly at night! Jim is finishing up an exterior remodel, putting up some new vinyl siding, and it took me two Coronas to look at it all. Good thing he didn't do any work on the deck or I would have slept thru the football!

I tossed my laundry into the washer and flopped on the couch while James grilled the steaks and steamed the broccoli. I'm pretty doubtful that he knows what he's doing around the grill, but the steaks came out amazing!

Back on the truck during the Bronco's first quarter and instantly went to sleep with a 04:25 wake-up. Got to Produce Row in St. Louis just before 05:00, got into a door fifteen minutes later, and was buttoning up the trailer by 05:40! It was only two pallets, but you know how that can go sometimes! Tomorrow is more of the same: two pallets coming off in Cleveland in the predawn and a mad dash to Connecticut to do it again on Wednesday.

The Qualcomm says that I have 2,973 miles this week at 7.5 mpg. By the time it resets tomorrow afternoon I should be another 400 miles down the road. Excellent week!

No. They limit your parking time. One more reason I would rather tarp than deal with grocery warehouses. What direction are you coming from? If it's from Ontario CA on I-5 the best closest parking is probably the scale @ Dupont.

I've pulled so many different kinds or trailers and freight over the years, they each have their perks. When I came back over the road I chose to pull a refrigerated trailer. My thought on the matter was that regardless of what the economy was doing people were always going eat!

You've got that right, Terry. It's the backbone concept of the entire refrigerated trucking industry. I won't buy siding or a new toilet in tough times, but I certainly will have my hot dogs, tomatoes, and ice cream.
