As I type this at a rest area near St. Clair, Michigan (on the east side of the state) my OAT gauge says 42. That's about right. Our "good" weather days are numbered. Soon, there will be snow...

was headed east just out of troutdale on 84 today and saw a JCT truck on the westbound side with half of the cab torn off... looked like the drivers side but the other half was in tact. Weird thing was that the trailer was in perfect condition. wondering what happened there

Did it look like he hit anything? Was there any other trucks or trailers around? I hope it wasn't any of these guys!

I hope all is well with that driver! Sending Prayers and good thoughts his way!.

Looking back at the previous 7 days on the Qualcomm, I have days of:

    582
    535
    364
    511
    307
    645
    594
    3,538 miles
That's a pretty good week! And at 7.5 mpg too. Assuming that about 3,400 of those miles are "paid", that's a $1,500+ week. Another nice thing is that I'll start tomorrow with over 10 hours available, and I pick up 10 and 10.5 hours the next two days.

I hit Cleveland at 5 am in the pitch dark; arguably the best time to see Cleveland. Found the dock and off loaded three pallets of cucumbers pretty quickly. I hit the road for Connecticut before 6. Got into the Milford Pilot at 4 pm with plenty of parking. By 5 it was pretty much full! Tomorrow is another 5 am drop and I'll be done with this load.

A pre-plan came in while I was navimagating around NYC. Pick up in Dayton, NJ tomorrow night at 10 going to Gary, IN. Total of 818 miles, delivering Friday morning. So you see, I don't always get 1,000+ mile trips! It will be odd though, since I've been having 03:30 wakeup calls. The only way to run this thing is to pick it up and get out of Jersey in the night. There's no parking per se, so I'll bounce over to Carlisle, PA before shutting down. I just have to figure out where to take 10 after my delivery in the morning.

Sharpp, you could park down on the jersey turnpike at the vince lombardi service plaza which would put you apx 46mi away from dayton nj and give you a decent place to park enroute without having to go out of the way.

Thanks, I looked that up and like that option. It depends on how long it takes to unload in North Haven. If they get me done quickly, I might come back here until after 6 pm or so. If I'm stuck there until after 9, I'll scoot on down to the turnpike and take a 10 or a split-sleeper 8 so that I'll have hours to run after the pick up.

For comparison, my regional 8 days are:

    302
    417
    498
    454
    0
    468
    299
    320
    ________
    2,759 miles

The zero is Sunday, which we almost alway have of, though mine was spent at a TA in Gary--and wasn't that fun. Last week was a bit heavier but it's pretty close. I get paid percentage, not miles, so I won't make anywhere near what Sharpp makes, but I also don't pay for fuel and the other things he does. At the end, my pay should be about half of his.

For only putting in 5- ur occasional 8 hr day isn't that bad at all, if ur making half of Sharpps pay. Curious to know if Sharpp found parking there in Dirty Gerzy. That Lombardi is a total cluster f***. Any time of day
